Keep trucks moving — safely & on time
THE ROLE

The Opportunity

Hall Drilling is seeking a dependable, organized, and decisive Dispatcher to help lead the daily movement of our fluid-hauling operation from Ellenboro. This is not a position where someone simply answers a radio or enters information into a computer. The dispatcher is a working link between drivers, customers, field personnel, administration, and operations management—and the quality and speed of that coordination directly affects whether trucks move safely, efficiently, and on time. The right person can manage a busy phone, give drivers clear direction, maintain control of a changing dispatch board, review paperwork in both digital and paper form, and keep accurate operational records without losing sight of the people involved.

What Success Looks Like — The Four Pillars

๐ŸŽฏ
Control the Shift
Keep an accurate, real-time picture of who is working, which truck each driver has, what every truck is doing, what work is next, and which issues need attention.
๐Ÿšš
Move People Safely
Give clear, timely directions; confirm drivers understand assignments; respond to field changes; and keep work progressing without sacrificing safety or accuracy.
๐Ÿ“„
Protect the Paperwork
Review tickets, manifests, times, quantities, locations, and supporting documents closely enough to catch missing or conflicting information before processing.
๐Ÿ“ž
Close the Communication Loop
Take calls, make calls, document important facts, update the appropriate people, and carry unresolved items into a clear shift handoff.

Core Responsibilities & Detailed Duties

1
Dispatching & Driver Direction
Build, organize, assign, and adjust the day's load plan based on customer needs, truck availability, driver availability, locations, water type, timing, and operational priorities. Contact drivers directly by phone or approved messaging tools, give complete assignment details, and verify comprehension.
2
Active Fleet Monitoring
Keep drivers moving and out the door by anticipating missing assignments, unclear instructions, truck changes, paperwork needs, and delays. Monitor active work including pending loads, preloads, shift changes, transfers, reroutes, and return-to-yard activity. Reassign work instantly when trucks go down or priorities shift. Coordinate cleanly with night-shift dispatch personnel.
3
Field & Customer Communication
Receive and make a high volume of operational calls while remaining professional, calm, and specific with customer representatives, field supervisors, mechanics, and management. Escalate safety concerns, service failures, or prolonged delays immediately.
4
Fluid Tracker & Telemetry Systems
Maintain accurate load cards and records including driver, truck, shift, customer, loading/offload locations, water type, status, and notes. Use Samsara information and route status responsibly when coordinating arrivals, departures, and vehicle activity. Keep the driver's view and office records completely aligned.
5
Audit & Paperwork Review
Collect, organize, and review electronic paperwork and physical paper tickets/manifests. Reconcile quantities, barrels, service times, and signatures. Identify and resolve discrepancies, illegible entries, or conflicting times before records move forward for billing or payroll.

A Day on the Desk

A representative look at how the day flows. No two shifts are identical — that's part of the job.

Start of Shift
Take the handoff from night dispatch. Review the board: who's working, which trucks are up, what carried over, and what needs attention first.
Morning Push
Get drivers loaded and rolling. Confirm assignments, answer the steady stream of calls, and adjust the plan as trucks, sites, and priorities change.
Midday Control
Monitor active loads, reroutes, and shift changes. Solve problems as they surface — a truck down, a site delay, a driver who needs a straight answer.
Paperwork Block
Work through tickets and manifests — paper and digital — reconciling times, quantities, and signatures so records are clean for billing and payroll.
Handoff
Brief night dispatch on everything open, in motion, or unresolved. A clean handoff means the operation never skips a beat.

Professional Standards

SAFETY FIRST
Never direct a driver to ignore safety rules, legal requirements, customer-site rules, or equipment limitations.
ACCURACY
Verify details before releasing work, changing records, or passing information forward.
RESPECT & ACCOUNTABILITY
Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, coworkers, and management—even under pressure. Own assigned work, maintain honest records, and promptly disclose errors.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Protect employee, customer, operational, payroll, and billing data. Follow company procedures and direct instructions from Administration and Operations Management.

Required Strengths, Qualifications & Environment

โœ“ Clear, confident verbal communication and professional telephone etiquette.
โœ“ Strong attention to detail with names, numbers, locations, times, quantities, and written instructions.
โœ“ Comfort using computers, web-based systems, email, digital forms, scanning, printing, spreadsheets, and mobile communication tools.
โœ“ Good judgment under pressure, dependability, punctuality, and ability to work independently while remaining accountable to leadership.
โœ“ Prior dispatch, trucking, logistics, fluid hauling, oilfield, customer service, auditing, or administrative experience is helpful; the ability to learn and perform the work correctly is essential.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily office-based work requiring extended use of phones, computers, documents, and multiple information sources with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Consistent presence is critical as the dispatch desk is an active operational control point.

The best dispatchers we've seen share a few traits. If these sound like you, we'd like to hear from you.

๐Ÿ“ž
Good on the phone
You can be direct without being harsh, and friendly without losing the point of the call.
๐Ÿ”
Detail obsessed
Times, quantities, and names don't blur together for you — and something that looks "off" bothers you until it's checked.
๐Ÿค
Team first
