General Job Description


Mechanic position is responsible for performing routine mechanical and preventative maintenance and repairs on all fleet and equipment. It is also important that you are an organized and safety-minded individual who can interact in a positive and professional manner with a wide variety of customers and coworkers.


Essential Functions/Skills:


  • Perform repair and maintenance on all fleet and equipment
  • Service fleet vehicles per company maintenance schedules and/or driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR)
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs, adjustment or replacements
  • Inspect, lubricate, and service vehicles and equipment
  • Install, adjust, and repair equipment and vehicles as needed
  • Perform system checks and troubleshooting using proper diagnostic tools
  • Check, fill and/or change appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts and check/change filters
  • Inspect, repair and/or overhaul vehicle support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake systems
  • Perform roadside repairs and adjustments
  • Ability to read instruments gauges, devices, etc. and complete proper paperwork
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (instructions, handbooks, operating, maintenance and procedural manuals
  • May fabricate and modify parts and equipment
  • Work on equipment in the shop and field as needed
  • Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order
  • Keep shop and work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekend work when scheduled
  • Dependable attendance
  • Perform related duties as assigned


Safety:


  • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures
  • Follow establish safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties
  • Ensure shop, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to Fleet Manager immediately
  • Keep work area clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
  • Follow all policies and procedures, with strict attention to safety, per company policies

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of related maintenance experience is preferred
  • Must provide own tools
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Have a safe driving record verified by Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) 
  • Must successfully complete and pass a urine 10 panel drug screen and hair follicle test and background screening

Working Conditions:


Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:


Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.  Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, drilling fluids and diesel fuel.
