General Job Description:


This position is responsible for supporting the oilfield operations.  The position is diverse and job duties may vary on a daily basis.  The Roustabout may be required to work with hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment. It is also important that you are an organized and safety-minded individual who can interact in a positive and professional manner with a wide variety of customers and coworkers.  Roustabouts may be required to work in all types of inclement and/or extreme weather conditions.
 

 

Essential Functions/Skills:


  • Set well equipment on well locations 
  • Install and repair pipelines 
  • Secure equipment and safely transport according to DOT requirements 
  • Clean up environmental spills 
  • Assemble and install of equipment and tank batteries, also the building of flow lines from and off of well head and flow tree 
  • Operate high pressure power washing equipment 
  • Install and make repairs to oil and production water tanks, including confined space entry in water truck tanks
  • Dig pits and lines 
  • Repair dikes, perform general ground work around well sites 
  • Perform access road upkeep and maintenance if requested 
  • Operate light and heavy equipment 
  • Assist other co-workers whenever necessary 
  • Maintain tools and equipment used in the performance of assigned duties
  • Keep equipment in safe and proper working condition
  • Responsible for conducting all field activities safely and accurately 
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining all company equipment/fleet 
  • Proficiency with all types of tools and equipment 
  • Ability to work safely at various heights 
  • Must be willing to work overtime and may be required to weekends, nights and holidays if needed
  • To be punctual and maintain regular attendance
  • Ability to work in confined space 
  • Ability to work with or around drilling rig fluids 
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance on equipment 
  • Safety and effectively be a spotter for vehicles and other equipment 
  • General yard maintenance of ground and buildings 
  • Ability to communicate with your supervisors by telephone, e-mail or in person 
  • Ability to communicate and work with other employees to complete job tasks (Team Work)
  • Other duties as required by supervisor

  • Comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements and applicable state and federal safety and environmental regulations
  • Conduct job tasks and transportation activities in a safe, efficient and environmentally cautious manner
  • Follow establish safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties
  • Secure work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials
  • Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
  • Follow all policies and procedures, with strict attention to safety, per company and client standards
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately
  • Safely work in a potentially hazardous environment
  • Attend all required safety meetings


Qualifications: 


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Have a safe driving record verified by Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) 
  • Must successfully complete and pass a urine 10 panel drug screen and hair follicle test and background screening


Working Conditions:


Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:


Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching and ability to do repetitive tasks.  Hand and foot coordination: You must coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to guide trucks in tight places. Operation monitoring: ability to read gauges, dials, and other indicators, and adjust them as necessary. Work outside in all weather conditions and around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts.  Exposure to dampness and humidity, chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline and diesel fuel.  Must have the ability to have high levels of physical and mental stamina to work shift that can be longer than 12 hours for a week at a time, must have the ability to swing 12lb sledge hammer and exhibit strength (lift 70lbs or greater) and the ability to react quickly (running, ducking and lunging), hearing, seeing (including depth perception and peripheral vision), able to perform rapid mental coordination and mentally alert for the entire regular shift.
